Project: Edda

More About This Project

Bridge Support Tripod

EDDA was the first offshore structure to be fabricated and loaded out from the Ardersier yard, one of a number of contracts awarded by Phillips and completed between 1973 – 1977.  While this initial contract was for a single tripod Jacket and Piles, the yard was to construct a further five Flare Tripod Platforms, a Bridge Support Tripod Platform plus three Bridge structures. The third image included above shows Tripod structures in the Greater Ekofisk Field which are also typical of those in the Edda field which lies nearby in approx 70 metres of water.
