Wellhead Platform and Riser Platform
In July 1998 British Gas awarded an Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, Hook-up & Commissioning (EPCI) contract to a partnership which included fabrication on the Yard of two platforms and two bridges for the Easington Catchment Area Field. The facilities to be built were specifically the Neptune Wellhead Platform (Topsides, Jacket and Piles) and the Cleeton Riser Platform (Topsides, Jacket and Piles). Also to be included were two connecting bridges (Pipe & Pedestrian) from the Cleeton Riser Platform to the existing Cleeton facilities.
Following the initial engineering phase, fabrication commenced on the Yard in November 1998 and with fabrication taking 9 months, loadout and sail away was achieved in August of 1999. Following offshore installation, hook up and commissioning, production commenced in December 1999.
The Neptune field ceased production in 2023 however the Cleeton facilities are still used for processing gas from other fields as of 2025.
