The building which housed the Ring Shop formerly operated as a Pipemill No1 up until relocation of pipe rolling activity in the mid 1980’s. Thereafter the building became used for a number of fabrication activities which notably included the installation of stiffening into jacket and deck tubular joint sections. The equipment used for this purpose was a mix of turntables and welding booms which were purpose built in-house using standard mechanical and welding equipment.
