Production Topsides & Support Structure
Amerada Hess South Arne
The South Arne platform, installed in the Danish Sector in the summer of 1999, featured a unique hybrid design incorporating a single tower 100,000 Tonne concrete gravity base structure (GBS) complete with 550,000 bbls storage, and a conventional lattice steel structure combined to support a 5,800 te production deck with accommodation facilities. Drilling was performed with a jack-up cantilever drill rig. Production commenced in July 1999, following a short hook-up, and within three months, the platform was producing 50,000 barrels per day.
