Module Support Frame (MSF)
The Ninian Module Support Frame (MSF) was designed and built to support the Topsides Modules upon a concrete gravity base structure (GBS). Following completion of fabrication and loadout at the Yard, the MSF was delivered to the Howard Doris deep water facility at Kishorn on the west coast. There the MSF structure was installed onto the platform’s circular GBS followed by the installation of the Topsides Modules. The completed platform was towed to the offshore field in 1978 and sunk to the sea floor in 141 metres water depth. Oil production commenced in December of that year. Production ceased in May 2017 and removal of the topsides was completed in 2021.
