Wellhead Platform
Ganymede was first project to be undertaken after almost a year of inactivity on the Yard following the sailaway of Scott JU Jacket in 1993. Following this period in which a number of tenders had been submitted without success, the award of this project in 1994 came as a relief to the remaining personnel on the Yard which had been reduced to around fifty in number. This project was also a first for the Yard in being an “Alliance” type of contract where the Client (Conoco) and Contractors formed a partnership to execute the work. The other main Contractors in the alliance were Brown & Root who designed the facilities and Seaway Heavy Lifting who were responsible for the transport and installation.
