Power Generation Modules
The scope of work relating to the Power Generation facilities on Brae A included the skid packaging of four x 25MW turbine generators under a contract with Rolls Royce and the building of an Exhaust / Waste Heat Recovery Module under contract to Marathon. Assistance in testing and commissioning of the generators was also within the Yards workscope. The generator package testing involved the setting up of a load bank at the quayside to artificially simulate electrical loads and test the performance of the generators (see above image).
Upon completion of fabrication and generator testing the Module and Skids sailed from the Yard in July 1982.
