Project: Beryl "A"

More About This Project

Topsides Module

During the early years of operation of the Beryl A platform, oil was exported from storage tanks within the concrete substructure through a Single Point Mooring Buoy, whilst gas was either re-injected into the wells or flared off. During the late eighties and into the early nineties the pipeline infrastructure to export the gas was put in place, requiring additional gas compression facilities to be installed on the Beryl platform. As part of this development the Ardersier Yard was awarded a project to build an 1100 Tonne Gas Compression Module which sailed from the Yard in 1988. As a further part of the development the Yard was later awarded a contract by Mobil to build a Riser Tower Jacket and Topsides which was completed in 1989 (see separate project).
