Project: Ravenspurn

More About This Project

3 No Jackets & Piles

The Ravenspurn offshore development comprised of two adjacent natural gas fields (Ravenspurn South and North) located in the UK sector of the southern North Sea about 65 km east of Flambrough Head, Yorkshire. BP planned to develop the Ravenspurn South field was by means of installing three normally unattended Wellhead and Production Platforms in a water depth at the site of 48 metres.

In February 1987 BP awarded the Ardersier Yard a contract to build three 4 leg Wellhead Jackets each weighing in the region of 2,100 to 2,200 Tonnes and piling for the three Jackets weighing a total of 3,778 Tonnes.

The three jackets which were all similar in design were assembled on their side, lifted upright and loaded out by trailer. Jacket & Piling Fabrication was completed in March 1988 and following sailaway from the Yard and the subsequent offshore installation programme, first gas production was achieved in October of 1989.
