5 No Jackets & Piles
In 1970 gas was discovered in an area of Southern North Sea which came to be known as the V Fields. Phase I development of the areas deposits contained the Vulcan, Vanguard, North Valiant and South Valiant gas fields. The product from the fields was to be processed via the Lincolnshire Offshore Gas Gathering System (LOGGS) prior to exporting ashore for further processing and storage.
In October 1986 Conoco awarded the Yard a contract to build five jackets for V Block Phase 1. Three 4 leg Wellhead Jackets (Vulcan (UD), South Valiant (TD) and Vanguard (QD), a 4 leg Accommodation Jacket (PA) and an eight leg Production Jacket (PP). The contract also included the fabrication of 3,880 Tonnes of Piling. Upon completion, the Jackets and Piles were loaded out and sailed from the Yard in the summer of 1987
