Jacket and Module Lift Frame

The DP3 Wellhead Jacket contract was first of four similar Jackets to be awarded to the Yard by Hydrocarbons Great Britain (HGB) for their Morecambe Field platforms in the Irish Sea. Also included within the scope of this initial contract was the building of two Module Lift Frames for Topsides installation activities.  

Following final assembly on a set of temporary skid rails the Jacket was loaded out in July 1983 with offshore installation following in the same month. Platform Start-up was in 1985 with production continuing until 2019 and removal of the platform in 2023. The platform was located in the South Morecambe Field (UKCS Block 110/2a) which lies in a cluster of Morecambe Fields located approximately 27 km west of Blackpool
