TLP Flare and Piles

In January 1982 Conoco awarded the Yard a contract to fabricate the Flare Tower and the Foundation Template Piles for the Hutton TLP development.

The Hutton TLP Flare was originally planned to be installed onto the platform during the offshore hook up campaign and was therefore issued under a separate fabrication contract scope from the main Hutton TLP Topsides contract. As a consequence of the Yard acquiring a Lampson Transi-lift crane, the installation of the Flare fell within the Yards capabilities and subsequently became additional scope to the Topsides contract.

The Piles fabricated within this contract scope were to fix the tether foundation templates to the sea bed thus providing an anchor for the tension legs of the TLP. Upon completion the Piles were loaded out in April 1983.
