Piling
The contract to build the Magnus piles delivered the heaviest set of piles to be built on the Yard with a total weight of 13,300 Tonnes being made up of 36 piles weighing approximately 370 Tonnes each. Fabrication was completed in 1982 and the platform commenced production in August 1983, remaining operational in 2025.
The Magnus platform stands in 186 metres of water and is located 160 kilometres north-east of the Shetland Islands in block 211/12.
