Jacket, Piles & Module Support Frame
Amoco discovered the NW Hutton field in 1975 in an area which is located 130 km north-east of the Shetland Islands in the UK North Sea. Development of the field was based upon installation of an eight leg Drilling, Production and Quarters platform which was designed by McDermott Engineering.
The Ardersier Yard was awarded a contract in December 1979 to build the NW Hutton Jacket, Piles and Module Support Frame (MSF) which represented a scope with a combined weight of 28,226 Tonnes
The Yard completed the fabrication of the Jacket on the secondary west slipway in August 1981, and following load out and sail away of the Jacket, Piles and MSF the offshore installation commenced in September. With platform start-up in 1983, production continued for 20 years until 2003. The platform was finally removed in 2009.
