The types of offshore facilities built at the Yard were generally categorised as Topsides, Jackets, Piling, Subsea Structures and Pipelines.
The image shown describes the components of a typical offshore facility.

Topside
Typical large Platform Topsides would generally comprise of the Drilling, Processing and Utilities systems required to extract and export oil and gas from a reservoir. The type projects built on the Yard ranged in size from small Bridges and Flare Stacks to large Modules and fully integrated Topsides facilities.
Jackets
A Jacket consisted of a steel framing structure which was located on the sea bed to provide support for the Topsides, Conductors, Risers and Caissons. Jackets built in the Yard ranged in size to accommodate platforms installed in 20 to 145 m water depth.
Piling
Steel piles driven into the soil to provide the anchor between platform and the sea bed.
Subsea Structures
Facility for controlling the flow of pipeline fluids and gas between wells, interlinked platforms and onshore terminals
Flowlines
Pipeline for transmission of gas and fluids along the seabed.
