The last project to be built on the Yard being completed in Spring 2000 and installed in the outer Moray Firth, the Texaco Captain manifold weighing 2,000 Tonnes was the heaviest sub sea manifold structure built and installed offshore at the time. The structure was designed and built to incorporate the installation of interchangeable Well Control Modules offshore in a water depth of 105 meters. As such the complexity and build tolerances to accommodate such a feature presented considerable challenge in the welding and machining of such a large steel framework.
