At 70km in length, Schiehallion represented the longest pipeline project undertaken by the Spoolbase / Norlift operation. The pipeline work added to the Schiehallion FPSO Topsides fabrication also carried out at the Yard.

The McDermott Yard in Ardersier, Scotland was active between 1973 and 2000 manufacturing equipment for the offshore industries.
